Cinema Italiano: Neorealism and Beyond, from Rossellini to Fellini
The Stop Motion Animation of Ray Harryhausen
Whether you're a fan of Italian culture and history, a student with international tastes, or a dedicated cinephile with a passion for the classics, this course is sure to entertain and edify. Here we begin with the most important films of Italian neorealism directed by Rossellini, De Sica, and Visconti, and end with the more surrealistic works of Federico Fellini...plus we'll throw in some Antonioni as well...
Much as I can appreciate and love movies of all types, I have to admit, I am foremost a space freak and science-fiction-fantasy geek. So it's only natural I would want to create an entire curriculum centered around this broad category of filmic exploration.
This comprehensive survey of the extensive work of stop-motion animation legend and "special effects titan" Ray Harryhausen is the the first step in that direction...
Since the days of Reefer Madness our knowledge about cannabis has increased many fold. Advances in our understanding include the plant's complex chemical make-up, its great medicinal value and potential, as well as the discovery of a naturally occurring "endocannabinoid" system in our own body, just to name a few.
Now that cannabis is widely available and consumer numbers are rapidly increasing, everyone should learn the basics of this medicine as well as share their experiences with it. In addition to learning more about cannabis, these presentations provide an opportunity to connect with others in the same boat and with similar interests.
Such education and connection helps us take our first steps to creating healthy cannabis-friendly communities and establishing well-informed consumer practices. What's more this presentation promises a fair amount of fun!
Space is limited so please call ahead to reserve your seat . Better yet call today and be one of the first dozen folks to receive half off admission.
Thank you, Dean
Date and Time: Saturday October 17th, 1:00-2:30pm
