As founder of Manitou Movie School I see my foremost duty to students as two-fold: first, to share with you how I think and what I think about--including my hopes, dreams, and plans--and in so doing encourage you, indeed to challenge you, to think for yourself; and second, to listen to you.
As a student, your foremost job is simply the reverse of mine; first to listen, and second to share the what and how of your thinking, including your hopes. dreams, and plans
Thus in this sharing, which in essence is the practice of dialogue, we are bridge-building, finding common ground and common interests, creating pathways for exchange of knowledge and skills, connecting ourselves through our common humanity and personal diversity, and, most importantly, as our class "bible" says, "creating the capacity for new behavior."
